Describe the companies you want
Find companies by what they do, in your own words — and leave out the ones that only look alike.
Industries only go so far: none of them is "SaaS", and none says who a company sells to. The AI company description finds companies by meaning instead — you describe them in plain words, like sells payroll software to small businesses.
It's in the Company section of the filters, on Lead search (people at those companies) and on Company search (the companies themselves).

Describe the companies
- Open the Company section and type what the companies do in AI company description.
- Press Enter, or click outside the box, to search. AI searches take 5–15 seconds.
- Click Add for another description. Companies like any of them match.
The drop-down under the descriptions sets how close a match must be — one setting for all of them:
- Exact — only companies that are exactly what you described.
- Similar — companies clearly in that space. The default, and a good start.
- Related — companies in and around it.
- Broad — anything with a real connection. Check the results.
Leave out companies like
Describe the companies you don't want in Leave out companies like — for example software development agency. Companies like any of these are dropped from the results. This group has its own match setting.
Important
Don't write "not …" inside a description. The AI matches meaning and skips the "not": SaaS company, not an agency finds agencies too. Put them in Leave out companies like instead.
You can use 3 descriptions in all, the ones to leave out included.
The presets: SaaS, B2B SaaS, B2C SaaS
The buttons above the box fill in a ready-made search and run it. Each one sets:
- Industry — 11 software and internet industries, such as Software Development and Internet.
- Leave out companies like — IT services, IT consulting, outsourcing or custom software development agency.
- AI company description:
- B2B SaaS — Software company selling its own cloud SaaS product on subscription to businesses and teams.
- B2C SaaS — Mobile app or online subscription service for consumers, such as fitness, dating, language learning, personal finance or streaming apps.
- SaaS — both, so either kind matches. That uses all 3 descriptions.
Your other filters stay as they are. Change anything a preset filled in, and the search runs again.
Tips
- Say what the company sells and to whom: accounting software for dental practices beats software company.
- Name examples: the B2C preset lists kinds of apps rather than just saying "consumer".
- Narrow it down with Industry, Size & growth or Company HQ.
- Too few results? Try Related. Too many that look wrong? Try Exact, or add one to leave out.
